A step into the film world , did a quick test with Oliver from Ford models to test out Kodak's 400 iso films with natural light before committing to them on an actual shoot. Next shoot up I'll be trying Ilford with some strobes. Can't wait!

Every now and then I'm asked by agencies to shoot models before they get signed, offering bookers another perspective on the model. I loved Chirstopher's face right away. There's something timeless about it, and on top of it he knows how to move. Definitely looking forward to your next shoot.

At 6am tomorrow I'll be heading out to Napa aka wine country to assist on a campaign shoot for an up and coming clothing label . Should be interesting . Main reason I agreed to this was the experience, it's always interesting seeing how other photographers operate and how they deal with clients, paying ones at that too. Plus getting some $$ while doing so doesn't hurt either .
In other news , I'm planning a few shoots here and there. Not much going on in San Francisco at the moment where agencies are concerned so I've decided to work on a few personal projects and while doing that I'm trying to get my LA trip off the ground. *fingers crossed*

Almodovar= God with a camera

I've always been inspired by movies and videos. Even more so the beauty of great camera work/ lighting and story telling. I saw Broken Embraces yesterday, and all I can say is that Almadovar is a freaking god! His eye to detail, the witty scenes he sets up and the control he has over his subjects... pure joy.. he has such a crafty way of making you sad and then two minutes later down the road you're laughing your ass off not to mention the wonderful Andy Warhol paintings,prada, dolce & gabana and Chanel pieces in this film.. I'm certainly going to be checking out his older work...

I was more than thrilled when Britney contacted me to shoot her. Everyone knows I love me some top model, there hasn't been a season that I haven't seen or a shoot I didn't like! we met up for a quick test today, an hours worth of shooting plus planning or upcoming shoots. She was amazing to work with and we clicked right away. We even have some of the same fav photographers.. yay Helmut! enjoy everyone

So the 28th.. I turn 21... I'm really down at the fact that I wont be spending it home with my parents, but I've been blessed with great friends here in the city. A group of us will be getting together for Ice skating and dinner to ring in the day ( I wish I was a club person.. but it aint gona happen). Since I've never been to Paris.. and don't see myself visiting anytime soon, I thought why not bring Paris here. I found out about this amazing spot through my neighbor who works for the hotel chain.. I also did some previous work photographing their doggies .. ladies and gentlemen .. The Grand Cafe:

I also came home to find a lovely bottle of 1997 wine on the table.. I wove my roomies

Did I quick test today with Tobi @ Major. We'll be working on some upcoming projects and what better way to break the ice than do a quick test. First thing that grabbed me when we met earlier in the week was his killer cheekbones , sharp as knives and beautiful to shoot! I was inspired by film stills and Weegee's harsh on camera flash magic. Tobi was great, confident, sexy and knows what needs to be done and when to do it. I wanted something raw and natural, nothing too over the top. I discovered something interesting while shooting, out of the blue I decided to look through the viewfinder with my right eye instead of my left ( I'm a lefty) boo@ that , it seems my right eye sees color and focuses better :( . And P.s. Marc Jacobs thank you for making such a killer blue trench.. it rocked on this shoot.. now I love you!

Took inspiration from a few old school paints, some French documentaries , Childhood, youth, death, and coming of age..and Maria Callas, sempre Libra ( for the black and white hair toss)
Thanks to the lovely Molly @ Ford . Great day to shoot and great people, this is the reason I love San Francisco, who would have though such a beautiful location would be smack in the middle of the Haight.. the smell of pot was in the air and spirits were high.. the Highlight of my day, a passerby saw us shooting and blurted out : " that's some awesome white trash" haha you'll see why.And Special thanks to Oliver and his owner Linda who saved the day! can't wait for part two with the deer hounds!

Today I got the chance to shoot Nicole form Look, been about since 6 months since I last shot a female model. Today I did an event for Kimpton hotels, This hotel chain was one of the first to open its doors to pets and pretty soon other chains took notice. Very cool get together, fun people and cute little doggies and salty doggy martinis= yum. Also the young gentleman in a few pictures, there's a special story about him. He's only 10 years old and every year instead of asking for birthday presents, he's asked for donations to be made to help animals in need. So far he's raked up close to $7000 that has been used to help our little friends in need.

Today I shot Gabe from Ford. Thankfully I got some sleep this morning after retouching the previous day's shoot till 2am.. We made it to our location on time.. Busted out the backdrop in the middle of the forest ( I love my forest/studio). au natural was the theme for lighting haha.. I don't know why but I just love having only my camera on set.. it was an overcast day, not my favorite for shooting natural but it gave some ideas..

I love it when a model understands what you want, how you want and how to bring it to the table.. needless to say the shoot was amaaaaaazing, can't wait to do more!
